19 of Medvedev's 21 championships have been won on hard courts
A revitalized the Russian player won his initial trophy for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.
Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has endured a difficult season, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in specific - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.
Now working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought three-set triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This marks the player's maiden trophy since the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface since March of the previous year.
The win also indicates he has won 21 titles at twenty-one distinct events.
"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the first title I won when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six championship matches, including in that event in the past months.
His counter-punching strategy and regular emotional displays on the playing surface had prompted commentators to wonder if his ability to perform at the elite level was concluded.
But the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and perform assertively, supported by an improved service.
He came back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging opponent, taking four of the final five points to gain the advantage.
The competitors swapped service breaks in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his initial tour title, gained dominance to create a third set.
The opponent defended four early chances in a tight third set before the champion secured a break to that score to secure the win.
Suitably, the winner earned victory with a point at the net, with his opponent incapable to control a return after a lengthy match.
