Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Cars, walls and mailboxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they announced in a release.
Police report they were notified late on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued fluid.
The substance had been applied in the pattern of a banned symbol, they added.
Officers then found many other marked vehicles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws banning the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement state early analysis show the fluid was most likely human blood.
"There is still no indication as to its source; officials are currently not cognizant of any physical harm in connection with the incident," they added.
City officials announced they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have requested to the residents for information.
A high-ranking political figure said the incident made him without words and required to be addressed rapidly.
"This incident hits the center of Hanau and reopens the pain of the right-wing attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, mentioning the murder of nine victims by a assailant focusing on people of immigrant origin in five years prior.
